On May 1st the children from the St. John LaLande 2nd grade class participated in their First Holy Communion!
At St. John LaLande, religion is not merely a specialized subject, but an integral part of the entire school program. All students attend regularly scheduled religion classes. Grades K-8 attend Mass weekly. Students also participate in additional prayer opportunities throughout the year including Adoration of the Eucharist, Living Rosary, and Stations of the Cross.
The Day Program is for children going into 1st—6th grades and runs full days, Monday through Friday. The Evening Program is for youth entering the 7th—12th grades and runs Sunday through Thursday evenings.
7th and 8th grade students attended Respect Life Education Day. Bishop Johnston spoke on the importance of the strong taking care of the weak.
