When I graduated from St. John LaLande I was very well prepared for high school. My greatest strength going into high school was writing. I was ahead of most students from other middle schools. I was able to enroll for O’Hara High School’s Intensive Studies program and take all Honors classes. When I graduated high school I was able to attend the college of my choice and was accepted to every college that I applied to. I received excellent scholarships my freshman year in college. I’ve changed colleges and changed my major to nursing. I think the strong sense of service I learned at St. John LaLande has guided me toward my chosen major.

St. John LaLande is the reason I am the person who I am today. During my time there, the values of faith, service, and education were instilled in me, encouraging me to stay dedicated to them throughout my life- which I have so far. (Knock on wood). But my time there gave me so much more than that. Yes, it more than prepared me for high school, allowing me to take honors classes for all four years. Yes, it taught me the value of service, teaching me that it was something worthwhile, not boring or pointless. And yes, it nurtured my faith, allowing me to keep a close relationship with God. But through these things my time at St. John’s gave me so much more- my friends, the closeness of my family, and my future- and I can never thank the teachers and staff enough for giving me that.
