As we are all keenly aware, technology is the future. In fact, technology is the present. So to help prepare students for success after St. John’s, we must teach them how to responsibly use technology today. But technology is expensive! This is where our community partners step in. Thanks to our donors, led by the Orscheln Foundation, St. John’s is able to equip our students today for success tomorrow.
Beginning with a sizeable gift from the Orscheln Foundation this Fall, St. John’s purchased 20 iPads, one for each teacher to use in the classroom. Mrs. Corbin, one of our 4th grade teachers, shares, “A power outage occurred on Friday, January 10, 2014. What can a teacher and her students do? Pull out the classroom iPad and practice multiplication facts with a fun app, that’s what! Thanks so much for our classroom iPad.”
The Orscheln gift was combined with proceeds from this year’s Holiday Auction Fund-A-Need Technology, to purchase 10 iPads and a self-contained portable charging chart that is being used as a “mobile technology lab” throughout the school.
Because of our generous donors and community supporters like you, St. John’s continues to excel as we root our children in faith, ground them in excellence, and prepare them for success.
